6620 Whitley Terrace

In 1922, Harold H. Barter, who worked in the entertainment industry, constructed the Mediterranean three-story, 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom 3,233 square foot home. According a real estate website, the house was erected by Arthur S. Barnes, but on the permit, there is no architect listed. Harold was married to Estelle and had one son and lived at this residence from the time it was built until 1940. He worked for Laskey Studio and then Paramount as a department head.

Upon entry of the front door off of Whitley Terrace, there is a stairway leading down to the lower level that leads to the Batchelder tile fireplace in a cove-ceiling living room with five large lead windows that face the west hill of Whitley Heights.
